JDE Peet’s unafraid of supply chain cost inflation as Brazil coffee crisis looms

JDE Peets reported H1’21 revenues which rose by 0.5% year over year driven by weak food service revenues and pandemic-related lockdowns. The firm also faces inflation in raw materials and distribution costs. The price of coffee is rising and most recently has faced extreme droughts and an unseasonal frost in Brazil. Total coffee exports from Brazil fell by 1.3% year over year in June which was offset by higher shipments from Mexico.
